It is fitting that we should dip into our nostalgia file to get this photo, a shot of the debut of the World Floor Covering Association’s ( WFCA) Surfaces in April of 1990. This year, Surfaces is celebrating its 21st birthday and will stage some memorable events to commemorate the occasion. The sign adorning the back wall says, “Welcome to the magic of Surfaces.” And it was magical as it featured 187 exhibitors and attracted 4,200 visitors from all across America. Today, two decades later, Surfaces is still the industry’s premier market for all floor coverings.
