DALTON—Frank Hurd was unanimously reelected chairman of the Carpet America Recovery Effort (
CARE) at the organization’s recent quarterly board of director’s meeting.
Hurd has served as chairman for CARE, born from the Memorandum of Understanding for Carpet Stewardship, since its formation in 2002. Over the last eight years, he has led the organization to the forefront of product sustainability, recycling and green building. He will serve the group for at least another year in its effort to ultimately divert 40% of post-consumer carpet from landfills.
“It is an honor to be associated with a group as dedicated as CARE,” Hurd said. “I appreciate the board’s confidence in me and all its hard work. I look forward to another great year for the group.”
In addition, CARE elected Brendan McSheehy, director of research and development for Universal Fiber System, as treasurer, and Jeremy Stroop, operations manager for CARE, as the organization’s secretary.
