RALEIGH, N.C.— Pergo, has entered a mutual license agreement with Egger, a European laminate flooring manufacturer. The agreement applies to the Pergo PerfectFold patent ( FCNews Sept. 28/Oct. 5), and the Egger Pro Clic patent—both of which utilize fold-down technology.

“While there was some initial uncertainty regarding the patent rights of solutions referred to as fold-down technologies, all licensing issues have now been resolved,” said Ralf Eisermann, CEO of Pergo. “We believe strongly in the PerfectFold technology. Our objective is to also offer this innovation to other laminate flooring manufacturers in the future.” The fold-down technology is easy to install with a glueless application that offers strong stability, while achieving professional results, he added.
