DALLAS —For the second consecutive year, Surfaces was awarded one of the highest honors in the trade show industry at the recent Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Awards & Summit held in Rancho Palos Verdes , Calif.

Trade Show Executive magazine annually recognizes the top 100 trade shows in the U.S. and awards the ones which have demonstrated leadership in various categories. Surfaces earned the Gold Grand award for “At the Forefront of Technology” based on the introduction of Connection-Point, the portal interface that serves as an online event headquarters in which attendees and exhibitors can access customized information based on their history with the show ( FCNews, April 6/13).

“This distinction is both validation and incentive that we continue to listen to our audience given the rapidly changing marketplace,” said Rick McConnell, president of Hanley-Wood Exhibitions, owner of Surfaces. “This kind of endorsement is going to make us work even harder to maintain our leadership position.”

Surfaces 2010 will be held Feb. 1 to 4 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. Exhibits are open Tuesday through Thursday while the show’s Education Program opens Monday, Feb. 1, and runs through Thursday.
