Hunter Douglas products eligible for tax credits
Article Number: 5026

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J.—Hunter Douglas, creator of the honeycomb shade category, announced its patented Duette Architella honeycomb shades may now qualify for a special federal tax credit of up to $1,500 for energy-efficient products as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The tax credit is in effect for qualifying purchases retroactive to Jan. 1 and continuing through the end of 2010.

The credit applies to 30% of the cost of most Architella shades, up to a maximum of $1,500, when purchased and installed through Dec. 31, provided the expense meets the tax guidelines. Duette Architella shades, which can more than double the energy efficiency of a window, are the only window shades to qualify for the tax credit without add-on insulation systems, noted Rick Pellett, president of Hunter Douglas’ Window Fashions division.

“As the success of the ‘Cash for Clunkers’ program has shown, the addition of the federal tax credit debuts a powerful incentive for more consumers to buy and for dealers to build sales volume this fall and throughout 2010.” A $25 per unit savings with “The Season of Giving” holiday promotion rebate offer is also now available from Hunter Douglas.
