Pergo, the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of laminate flooring, has trademarked its patented PerfectFold™ system and has announced its intention to license this exclusive technology to third-party manufacturers.
The innovative, glueless locking joint with patented fold-down technology offers unmatched ease of installation using the exclusive Pergo Clip, which rotates to quickly and simply lock together adjacent panels. Pergo holds multiple patents in both the U.S. and Europe on the intellectual properties of this revolutionary design, which allows glueless locking joints to be assembled by vertical movement of adjacent flooring panels. Pergo also has secured exclusive contracts and rates with machine and parts suppliers that it can leverage in its licensing agreements.
“PerfectFold is a true engineering innovation and a game-changing technology for the category,” said Ralf Eisermann, head of Pfleiderer’s flooring division. “It reinforces Pergo’s position as the industry leader and enables us to serve the industry as a one-stop-shop for superior laminate technology.”
Industrial-scale testing is currently underway on PerfectFold and scheduled for completion later this year, at which time Pergo will begin offering the technology to other manufacturers employing or seeking to employ fold-down joining systems.
