DALLAS—
Anderson Hardwood is already known for routinely having one of the more prominent booths—in overall size as well as design/layout—on the Surfaces show floor. And 2010 will be no exception as the manufacturer is actually planning for bigger and better things.
The poor economy has forced many suppliers to reduce their marketing efforts, especially those in the wood category which has been among the hardest hit. But Anderson is not letting the downturn affect the way it does things, according to John Woolsey, vice president of marketing.
For Surfaces 2010, slated for Feb. 2 to 4 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Anderson is doing more than just returning to the front row position it has held the past few years.
Executives told
FCNews this past Surfaces the company occupied 10,000 square feet of space—80% for exhibits, 20% for meeting space. In 2010 its total footprint will be 20% larger.
Don Finkell, president, said the wood mill is planning a surprise and that is why it will need the additional square footage. Jeff Sills, Anderson’s COO, said Surfaces is a special show because “nowhere else can we reach so many key customers in a three-day period.”
News of Anderson’s expanded presence comes on the heels of Mannington announcing it will be returning to the main exhibit floor as well as Beaulieu saying it is once again going to occupy its typically large space (FCNews, June 15/22).
