This was a rare photo in October 1986 when these two venerable floor covering executives posed together. On this occasion, the New Jersey Carpet Club honored the two distributor leaders at a banquet that drew a record attendance. Fred Berman, left, chairman of Benj. Berman, and Eli Braunstein, chairman of Kane Carpet, operators of the two largest distributorships on the East Coast, had a great deal of respect and affection for each other.
