The hand-scraped, rotary cut wear layer collection is now inventoried in America and available for immediate shipment. Vila Velha represents “real” Brazilian Cherry, not the maple or oak specie stained to appear that way. Cikel’s Vila Velha authentic Brazilian Cherry is scraped by hand to create a hardwood flooring product with true character.

“We are offering a true Brazilian Cherry product here in the United States at a great price,” said Gerry Schappell, vice president of Cikel in America. “This is not a stained domestic product, or a product that is produced and finished in China. Vila Velha, like all Cikel products, is grown, produced, and finished locally in Brazil, and since it’s hand-scraped it has a much more subtle finish than a product that was done by machine. This is an exotic hardwood product, and exotic’s are hard, twice as hard as Oak, which makes it a much better selection for high-traffic areas or commercial installations.”

Vila Velha Brazilian Cherry is offered by Cikel in four-foot long planks, with a width of five inches, and can be floated or glued down directly on, above or below grade. The durable Vila Velha collection is ideal for residential and commercial applications with eight layers of oxide protection, and is offered in three colors including Coffee, Tobacco and Caramel.
