DALTON—In recent years,
Karastan has partnered with a number of well known personalities to star in its “Make A Statement” advertising campaign, but this year the company has gotten itself a real jewel in Jewel, the singer/songwriter, actress, poet and philanthropist.
“Jewel’s unique authenticity, singular back story and drive to excel at everything she does are traits that Karastan shares and admires,” said David Duncan, Karastan’s vice president of marketing. “Her multifaceted persona, commitment to balance in life and love of design and craftsmanship are completely in sync with the defining characteristics of the Karastan consumer.”
Though she is best known for her singing, having sold more than 27 million albums worldwide, Jewel is also a committed philanthropist, having founded Project Clean Water, which so far has helped 30 villages in 13 countries build wells and add water filters to provide quality drinking water.
And, an in-depth interview with the star reveals her love of home design, and thoughtful perspective on how to create a house that tells a compelling story about the people who live there. The interview can be read on Karastan’s Web site, karastan.com.
Duncan said it is these other qualities beyond her recognition as a singer that attracted Karastan to partner with Jewel. He added her appeal and recognition factor with a variety of audiences, especially young women, “will help build the Karastan brand with new consumer segments.”
Karastan’s 2009 Make A Statement campaign will feature six print ads— three each for carpet and rug.
Jewel succeeds such stars as Kelly Preston, Mariska Hargitay, Evangeline Lilly, and Andie MacDowell in the Make A Statement campaign.
