HICKSVILLE, N.Y— Effective June 1, the price of carpet chemicals are going up as three of the industry’s main suppliers each announced rate hikes.

Dow, Omnova and BASF all announced $0.04/lb (dry) increases for styrene butadiene used in latex products sold into the carpet industry.

Each cited their own rising raw material costs as the primary reason for the increase.
