MARIETTA, GA, April 29, 2009—Design Materials, Inc. (DMI) of Kansas City, KS, is the latest partner to join
Wools of New Zealand. With the addition of DMI, Wools of New Zealand has 45 partners that manufacturer and import more than 700 Brand approved products for the North American market.
DMI is recognized for offering a diverse range of natural floor coverings, including sisal, seagrass, mountaingrass, coir, cork and wool—all of which are renewable, sustainable and biodegradable. These products are fully inventoried in Kansas and distributed throughout North America. Included in DMI’s Wools of New Zealand Brand styles are Intuition and Intuition Stripe, two tightly constructed linear loops with a soft hand and earthen palette that emulates the beauty of nature. Both offerings can be purchased as broadloom our fabricated with cotton bindings in a choice of 15 colors. Estimated retail is $69 per square yard.
“As an importer of natural fiber floor coverings, we work closely with many of the growers throughout the world,” says Rick Fields, floor coverings product manager for DMI. “We see great value in the direct link Wools of New Zealand has with its farmers and are excited to partner with them in ways that will help us tell the wool story.”
To extol the natural origin and sustainable benefits of its floor coverings, DMI has created a new display system that beautifully houses its full line, along with a “Green by Nature” brochure that communicates the natural aspects of each fiber type and the farming processes involved in the growth of each crop.
