ATLANTA—To give its area rug exhibitors a better opportunity at capturing more business as well as to expose more buyers to the category, AmericasMart has changed the dates of the summer edition of its Atlanta International Area Rug Market so it will run parallel with the International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.

The new dates for the market are Sun., July 12 to Wed., July 15. According to show officials, these are the higher-volume traffic days for the home furnishings market.

Chas Sydney, senior vice president of area rugs for AmericasMart, said the new schedule “creates more advantageous business timing and gives the home furnishings retailers and interior designers shopping the concurrent Home & Gift Market enhanced access to AmericasMart’s four complete floors of area rug showrooms.”
