PATCHOGUE, N.Y.—Making sure the job is done right the first time is one way to ensure a satisfied customer, but when something does go wrong, how you handle that complaint is just as important to your bottom line. Recognizing this is truer than ever during these tough times, the Long Island Floor Covering Association (LIFCA) is hosting an educational seminar on the topic March 31 at 7 p.m.
“Preventing And Handling Complaints” is geared to salespeople in both the retail and wholesale segments,” noted Christopher Capobianco, executive director. A panel of experts will discuss consumer complaints from several points of view and field questions from the audience. Some of the topics include avoiding complaints by not overselling, being honest about what to expect from floor covering products, preparing the customer for what will happen on the day of installation and making sure a proper maintenance program is in place.
The event is free and will be held at the Plainview Holiday Inn on Long Island, N.Y. For more information, call 631.617.5059.
