WASHINGTON, DC— Mohawk Industries has named Taylor Flooring, Halifax, Nova Scotia, as the 2008 Mohawk ColorCenter ® North American Dealer of the Year.

Robert Taylor, Owner, and John Wells, General Manager, accepted the award, which was presented at the Mohawk ColorCenter Convention on February 7. Taylor Flooring was among nine regional winners for the Dealer of the Year Award, which recognizes exceptional work within a group comprised of the best floor covering minds in North America.

The ColorCenter Dealer of the Year Award is based on a number of criteria, including a percentage increase over previous year’s business, excellence in promoting the store concept, ongoing commitment to training, store standards, brand building, merchandising and installation ideas and community involvement.

A veteran of the distribution business, Taylor decided to open a retail flooring store in 1993. Since then, Taylor Flooring has grown to four stores. The company became a ColorCenter dealer in 2002. Two of its stores are Mohawk ColorCenter Elite showrooms; two are Mohawk ColorCenter Select. Taylor Floor has strong market share in both residential and commercial markets in the Atlantic Canada area.

Taylor Flooring has been singled out by a variety of groups for its exceptional service and solid business practices. The company was a finalist for Business of the Year in Atlantic Canada, and was named Subcontractor of the Year by local builders.
