LAS VEGAS—Surfaces was once again the setting for the third annual LAMMY awards. Presented by the North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA), the program recognizes individuals and companies that have made the greatest contribution to the responsible growth of the laminate flooring industry during the preceding year.

“We created the LAMMY Awards to recognize excellence within this continuously changing and growing segment,” said Bill Dearing, NALFA’s president. “For 12 years, NALFA members have made substantial contributions to the industry, and through distribution of the LAMMYs NALFA can formally recognize these companies and individuals for their contributions, encourage them to continue their efforts and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.”

Awards were given out in five categories this year: Distributor/Retailer of the Year, Regular Member Company of the Year, Associate Member of the Year, Associate Member Company of the Year, and Member of the Year.

Dearing noted nominees are anonymously chosen by NALFA’s board based on their positive accomplishments within the laminate industry in the previous year. Voting is done by NALFA members as well as the editors of the industry’s leading trade publications, including Floor Covering News.

This year’s winners were:

• Distributor/Retailer of the Year: Avalon Flooring

• Regular Member Company of the Year: Torlys

• Associate Member of the Year: Brent Sholl of Sealed Air Corp.

• Associate Member Company of the Year: Sealed Air Corp.

• Member of the Year: Dennis Bradway of Mannington Mills
