ArborCraft gains FSC certification
Article Number: 4069

JOHNSON CITY, TENN.—Hardwood manufacturer ArborCraft, formerly Harris Tarkett, has obtained Chain of Custody certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Tim Tompkins, ArborCraft vice president of sales, said the ability to sell FSC-certified products gives the company “one more opportunity to provide the hardwood choices consumers are demanding. This in turn will help improve the profitability of our wholesale partners and drive business their way.”

There are two parts to the FSC system: Forest Management Certification, which ensures the forest is managed to high standards covering, and Chain of Custody certification, which is the path taken by raw materials harvested from an FSC-certified source through processing, manufacturing, distribution and even printing in the case of paper until it is a final product ready for sale to the end consumer.
