LATICRETE International, Inc, a global leader in the manufacturing of innovative systems for the installation of tile and stone, supplied all of the installation system materials for the 21 waterfront villas with private, infinity edged pools at the luxurious Coral Island at Sentosa Cove on the Singapore waterfront.
Developed by Ho Bee (Sentosa) Pte Ltd and built by Hexacon Construction Pte Ltd, the SGD 38.2 million project represents the first integrated bungalow development on Singapore’s pristine new waterfront district. Just 10 minutes from Singapore’s bustling downtown, the bungalows at Coral Island, Sentosa Cove are Singapore’s only oceanfront marina estates. The three-story, five-room bungalows installed with the LATICRETE System® feature natural granite and ceramic tiles throughout, and each unit has a private, infinity edge pool off its back terrace.
LATICRETE® 3810 Latex Thin-Set Mortar Admix was mixed with LATICRETE 211 Powder for a high-strength adhesive for the natural granite installed at Coral Island at Sentosa Cove. For the ceramic tiles installed at the 21 bungalows, the specification called for LATICRETE 325 Premium Thin-Set Mortar, a high-performance bagged cementitious powder to be mixed with water to install ceramic tile and stone with the thin-set method.
The majority of the grouting was accomplished with LATICRETE 1600 Sanded Grout, with a small percentage of LATICRETE 1500 Unsanded Grout throughout, for dense, durable grout joints which will also act to inhibit the growth of stain-causing mold and mildew at Singapore’s ultra-posh Coral Island at Sentosa Cove development.
