HOUSTON— Tarkett Commercial’s Houston plant was honored with an Energy Saver Award by the U.S. Department of Energy. The award is given to mills who attain more than 7.5% total energy savings and report scheduled progress.

Tarkett worked with a Department of Energy expert on assessing key industrial process systems and cost-saving opportunities.

“We have taken major steps to implement modifications that will reduce our electrical and natural gas usage,” said Gilles de Beaumont, president of Tarkett Commercial. “Our continuous improvement team has identified and helped initiate a number of energy reduction solutions. We are very pleased at our success in helping reduce the nation’s carbon footprint.”
