FRIENDSWOOD, TEX.—The Flooring Technology Institute (FTI) announced its fall schedule of IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) classes for floor covering inspectors. Taking place at the Residence Inn in Holtsville, Long Island (through Nov. 2) and at the Homewood Suites in Charleston, S.C. (through Oct. 31), the classes are aimed at hard surface inspecting.
Course offerings include four five-day inspector-certification courses: Resilient Flooring Inspector (RFI), Ceramic Tile Inspector (CTI), Wood & Laminate Flooring Inspector (WLFI) and Marble & Stone Flooring Inspector (MSI).
In addition, a prerequisite course— Introduction to Substrate Subfloor Inspections— is required. Students must attend the course and pass a written exam before undergoing a rigorous probationary review report writing process for approval.
“The IICRC Hard Surface Program is not just a single five-day course for all categories of hard surface inspections,” explained Claudia Lezell, president of FTI, “but is a series of courses designed to provide as much information as possible for the flooring inspector.”
