Tile Outlet Always in Stock is a booming franchise that has dominated the tile market since its launch in 2001. While the 64-store network has captured the demand for in-stock ceramic, porcelain, glass, marble and granite, it has now identified the increasing number of consumer requests for other hard surface flooring products. Thus, to reach its full potential and optimize business, Tile Outlet had to expand its product mix.

With limited expertise in products beyond tile, Tile Outlet signed on as an S&G Carpet and More affiliate a few months ago, immediately becoming S&G’s largest member. Initially, the lure was S&G’s vast laminate and hardwood selection as Tile Outlet aspires to “capture the business of its customers looking for hard surface flooring who haven’t yet decided between tile and other products.”

S&G “presented a program that fit into our niche,” said Chris Nezbeth, vice president of Tile Outlet. “S&G is able to distribute to all our 64 stores across the U.S., and while the partnership is still in its infancy, S&G has received positive feedback from both our Tile Outlet stores and their customers.”

The support and education afforded by the S&G team have been well received. Tile Outlet franchisees now have the opportunity to interact with individuals who understand the industry, take the time to offer training for new products, and provide the necessary tools and materials, Nezbeth said.

Gloria Clark and her husband, Dennis, own two Tile Outlet stores in California: one in Folsom and the other in Shingle Springs. They have been franchisees from the start, and by having strong sales and business backgrounds have set the bar for their competition. Gloria is a designer dedicated to providing the best solutions for her customers and enjoys overseeing the jobs from start to finish.

She is “thrilled” to have S&G wood products available to sell and believes they will be the missing link in finishing many of her clients’ homes. The laminate enables her to complete the flooring package and address the multiple needs of her customers. Clark and the other franchisees can now provide a great selection of products and a more inclusive shopping experience.

“Tile Outlet finally found the quality and respectable product with a reasonable price point we were seeking,” Clark said. “Offering more volume and in-stock inventory to consumers will open the door to previously untapped business opportunities— its business has now been taken to the next level.”
