RICHMOND, VA.—Focusing on its environmental responsibility and eco-conscious consumers,
Carpenter Co. has enhanced its EnviroStep program with new renewably sourced (RS) moisture barrier films from DuPont. These films feature a minimum of 20% non-petroleum based sources and are renewable, yet do not take away from the cushion’s innate characteristics.
Ken Thompson, vice president of sales and marketing for Carpenter, said “The EnviroStep program is in response to this growing trend and offers a choice in carpet cushioning that provides both the desired performance and a lesser environmental impact. Retailers can now offer a product that meets this consumer trend.”
Carpenter’s EnviroStep program offers products made from 100% pre-consumer recycled polyurethane trim—in turn, carpet cushions are 100% recyclable—he noted.
Products with the RS moisture barriers will also feature a DuPont Renewably Sourced mark, and Carpenter’s POP materials will include information on EnviroStep.
