DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA.—During the 2008 MotoGP season,
Mapei is sponsoring Andrea Dovizioso, who rides for Team JiR Scot Honda. The MotoGP series will race in the United States twice this year. The first ract was in Laguna Seca, Calif., July 18 to 20, and the second is set for Indianapolis during the weekend of Sept. 12 to 14.
MotoGP is the world’s premier motorcycling championship, with a season composed of 18 Grand Prix events in 14 countries. MotoGP brings together the world’s top motorcycle manufacturers plus an elite crop of riders from every corner of the globe. Driving custom bikes that are not available for street riding, the racers record some of the fastest speeds in motorcycle racing.
“MotoGP is an exciting sporting event in Europe that is gaining popularity in the United States, and we hope some of our customers will enjoy the entertainment with us,” said Steven Day, operational marketing manager at Mapei. Mapei Group is sponsoring two riders in the worldwide series that takes place in 16 countries—Andrea Dovizioso in the MotoGP class and Yuki Takahashi in the 250 cc class.
Mapei has been a long-time supporter of the Road Cycling World Championships, sponsoring the victorious Professional Cycling Team for 10 years; and now the company is extending this support to the Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix with the sponsorships in MotoGP.
