High Point shifting to shorter show
Article Number: 3615

HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) announced it is shifting the pattern of the bi-annual market’s opening and closing days. Effective with the 2009 Spring Market, April 25 to 30, the show will encompass six days, officially opening on a Saturday and closing on Thursday.

These changes will not impact the upcoming Fall Market dates—Oct. 20 to 26.

Brian Casey, president and CEO of HPMA, said the changes are being made to better accommodate the needs of “better-end buyers. We have talked extensively with customers, and they expressed a preference for shopping over the weekend,” he explained.
