SANTE FE SPRINGS, CALIF.—In a move that broadens its service area throughout the state of California, Galleher Corp. has acquired the assets of Floor Services Supply, a wholesale distributor of hardwood and laminate flooring in Northern California and northern Nevada.

Floor Services Supply is a 75-year-old business with locations in San Jose and Sacramento that, in recent years, posted sales exceeding $30 million annually.

“This acquisition supports our strategy of growth and expansion by enhancing our market position, operational efficiencies and potential customer base,” said Jeff Hamar, Galleher’s president. “Galleher, and our parent company, ITOCHI, are invested in the continued success of floor covering retailers and contractors.”

Through the purchase, Galleher has gained a total of approximately 1,500 customers, Hamar noted. Other details:

• Most of the Floor Services Supply employees will be retained. All sales and operations people are anticipated to continue as employees.

• Some Floor Service product lines may be added to Galleher and vice-versa, Hamar said.

• Galleher’s Northern California operations will be called Floor Service Supply—a Galleher company. “Over time, we will likely move to calling it Galleher,” Hamar said.

Vicki Dryden, former vice president of sales and marketing at Galleher who retired last December, will head the Northern California operation. “Vicki has a lifetime of experience in the flooring industry and 15 years with Galleher,” Hamar said. “She will be key in bringing our best practices and products to the new customers we will service in Northern California.

“Her new role will make her responsible for said business and she will lead the integration process of the two companies,” he concluded. “She’s a wealth of talent.” Since her retirement, Dryden has served in a consulting role with Galleher.
