GAINESVILLE, VA – On Friday, May 23 at Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club in Gainesville, VA – located 40 minutes outside of the Nation’s capital, golfers from all over the country joined together to raise funds and awareness for MS. Spearheaded by Phil and Kathy Halcomb, the 14th annual David Allen Company MS Golf Tournament was a huge success raising a record $80,000 to support local programs and services offered by the National Capital Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Nineteen years ago, Kathy Halcomb was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that can stop people from moving. A few years later she got involved with a support group for people living with MS, and soon after joining realized what little financial support the group had. In talking to her husband, an idea was born. In its first year, the David Allen Company MS Golf Tournament raised $800. In the past five years alone, the tournament has raised over $246,000.

Top fundraisers for the 2008 tournament include: Laticrete, Dal-Tile, Jody Rotondo, Andy Budd and Pre-Cast Terrazzo.

David Allen Company – which focuses on concept design and installation for ceramic tile, marble, stone, terrazzo and epoxy flooring – is currently working on plans for the 2009 tournament which is set for Friday June 12.
