ATLANTA—Gerflor, a vinyl resilient flooring manufacturer, announced two innovative advancements recently: a new floor installation system—Tarafit—and its new Sample Reuse Program.
According to the company, Tarafit is more sanitary than conventional flash coved resilient flooring, providing consumers a longer-lasting, better-looking floor. It improves overall cleanliness by creating rounded corners as opposed to angular, which allows standard cleaning equipment to remove dust and disease-causing agents from the corners.
“Gerflor’s Tarafit dramatically increases the cleanliness of vinyl flooring and ultimately the surrounding space,” said Alan Fennell, president of commercial flooring. “Gerflor designed and patented the Tarafit system to address the needs of environments where hygienic, sanitary conditions are desired.”
Fennell said the new system is also stronger and longer lasting than conventional flooring since it utilizes a heat welding method. And, when replacing the flooring, the wall skirting stays intact to reduce costs.
Environmental help
The company’s other recent addition—its Sample Reuse Program—is aimed at reducing environmental impact and creating new ways to achieve sustainable results. Exclusively through Gerflor’s Web site, www.gerflor-us.com, the program allows visitors to print a prepaid U.S. postage label to return Gerflor vinyl flooring samples to its Atlanta office for reuse and redistribution.
“When designing a space, we use samples to convey concepts or ideas to colleagues and clients,” said Robyn Dubick, interior designer for CR Goodman & Associates. “With Gerflor’s new Sample Reuse Program, we have the opportunity to return unused samples that will ultimately help conserve natural resources and reduce the negative impact on the environment.”
