Remember Remarkable Rosie? That’s the ubiquitous Rosie Blumkin of Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha during the 1979 Dallas winter market. Rosie, a national treasure, is shown here in the Masland showroom with Benn Ollman, left, Midwest Editor, and her carpet department manager, Sandy Kassner. The legendary Mrs. B. was 85 years old at the time and sold the business in 1983 to Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway. She was a centenarian when she passed away in 1998—104, to be exact.
