Mercerville, N.J.—In the past two years, Congoleum Corp. has received an
unprecedented response to a number of its new product offerings, allowing the
resilient manufacturer to grow and expand to better meet the needs of its
distributors and retailers. To help build upon this success, Congoleum has
announced a couple of key personal additions. Patrick Buckley has been named
vice president of marketing. In this role, he will be responsible for all
aspects of product positioning—from development through introduction. Dennis
Jarosz, Congoleum’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, added,
Buckley will also provide ongoing marketing, public relations and communications
support as well as overseeing sample and display activities. “Pat brings a
high level of leadership and expertise to our marketing department,” he said,
“and reinforces Congoleum’s commitment to bringing to market superior
products and services for all our customers.”
Additionally, Bruce Stanhope has been named vice president of research and
development. He will be responsible for market-driven new product development,
plant technical support and product installation support. John Russ,
Congoleum’s senior vice president of operations, added that Stanhope will
focus his attention on further innovating the mill’s product technology,
improving product performance and improving plant processes to reduce waste.
Having come to Congoleum from Velsicol Chemical Corp. as well as holding a Ph.D
in organic chemistry along with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Russ called
Stanhope “a proven leader within the area of research and development. His
substantial background in R&D will enable him to hit the ground running and
further enhance Congoleum’s already innovative product catalog.”
In other news, Congoleum recently recognized the hard work and dedication of
its sales reps with a number of awards. Taking home the company’s highest
honor, Sales Representative of the Year, was Ron Reilly from the Midwest region.
This award recognizes a sales rep who demonstrates “a remarkable work ethic
and an extensive knowledge of products and installation.” This was a good year
for Congoleum’s Midwest region, because it not only had the most outstanding
sales performance of the year, it was also home to the winner of the Regional
Manager of the Year—Bill Morabito. He was honored for “his outstanding work
throughout the year, and above and beyond performance.” Finally, a number of
reps were honored with the President’s Club award for “demonstrating
unparalleled dedication and performance with the company.” Winning this year
was Steve Blain, Midwest region; Deb Silver, new residential specialist in the
Central region; Sue Brown, Western region; Dan West, new residential specialist
in the Southeast region; John Nugent, Southeast region, and Rep of the Year,
