Floorstyle 08, the new trade event which runs alongside The Tile & Stone Show, is celebrating the success of its launch exhibition. The three-day show, which took place at London’s ExCeL Centre from 29 June to 1 July, attracted worldwide exhibitors from all sectors of the flooring industry, including wood, vinyl, laminate, rubber, linoleum, leather, metal and resin, along with suppliers of associated products.

In addition to an eye-catching sea of stands – which, over the two events, represented the entire wall and floor ‘smooths’ industry under one roof - Floorstyle 08 highlights included a comprehensive seminar programme, interactive demonstration zone, and the debut of the hugely popular Test the Expert’s feature.

Sponsored by Amtico, Floorstyle 08’s seminar programme presented a wealth of inspirational content on hot industry topics. Speakers included the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), Amtico, Bonakemi, Kährs and marketing expert, Leo Aspden. Meanwhile, Floorstyle 08’s Demonstration Zone hosted practical demonstrations from Bonakemi, Chemspec/Klindex, Flooring Accessories Ltd, Grant Westfield, Janser, Karndean, Leica Geosystems, Sika and Werkmaster, presenting visitors with an array of new products, tools and techniques.

Sponsored by Contract Flooring Journal, ‘Test the Experts’ saw renowned floorlayers, John Roberts (TAOFS) and Steve Ramsden, set the challenge of transforming two separate roomsets into eye-catching installation showpieces, in front of a live audience. ‘Test the Experts’ provided visitors with solutions from the best in the industry on how to tackle a variety of challenging installation areas, including stairs, ornate WC’s and fireplace hearths.
