HOUSTON—
Azrock by
Tarkett announced its ReUse reclamation program is gaining momentum with the help of Texas companies like Resource-4Floors and Ziegler Cooper Architects. Originally created in January 2006 to allow architects, designers and dealers to recycle Tarkett flooring materials, the program has been expanded to include the reclamation and recycling of its flooring samples.
“Sustainable design is a high priority for us,” said Amy Jochem, senior associate at Ziegler Cooper. “And once we knew how easy it would be to utilize Azrock’s reclamation program, we jumped at the chance to include it in the renovation of an existing building project.”
In the past two years, Azrock’s ReUse program has recycled over 100,000 pounds of material and saved it from the landfill. While the company is “happy” to see the program grow,
Diane Martel, vice president of marketing for
Tarkett Commercial, said, “This year we plan to increase post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content, and we depend on the end-user’s response to ReUse to help make that a reality.”
