DALTON—Improvements and upgrades for Beaulieu’s Memofil plant here are coming sooner than had been planned, after a fire hit the facility on May 14 (
FCNews, June 2/9).
Officials confirmed the facility suffered damage to five extrusion lines for production of polypropylene and nylon. There were no injuries to any of plant’s 300 employees and limited production resumed within five hours.
Full production is anticipated on the affected lines after work is completed later this year. Employees displaced by the fire have been reassigned temporarily to other Beaulieu plants in the area. There will be no interruption of shipments and a moderate loss of inventory due to the fire, noted
Ralph Boe, president and CEO.
