DALTON—Home improvement television star Chip Wade has joined
Mohawk Industries as a celebrity spokesperson for new and innovative products. He will use his expertise as a professional carpenter and home remodeler to help explain flooring innovations and their value to consumers.
“I’ve known and worked with Mohawk for years,” Wade said. “I’ve been impressed with its green efforts, like SmartStrand. It was important I worked with a company that’s dedicated to being environmentally responsible.”
Wade joined the Atlanta edition of the HGTV television show “Designed to Sell” in 2000 and quickly became a popular addition. “Chip combines real-world experience with extraordinary communications and craftsmanship,” said David Duncan, vice president of marketing for Mohawk. “He will help Mohawk demonstrate the true value of our products so consumers see all the advantages for quality, beauty and environmental responsibility. This will help consumers visit our retailers better prepared to make buying decisions.”
Wade’s initial projects with Mohawk include: An interactive presentation on SmartStrand, now online at mohawkflooring.com/chip-wade/chip-wade-on-smartstrand-carpet.aspx; and an interactive presentation on Mohawk’s hardwood installation technology, Uniclic.
