MIAMI—Cikel America recently unveiled its quick-ship program for exotic hardwoods. Gerry Schappell, vice president of wood, said the program allows Cikel to “control its own destiny—take it from the forest to the floor. Most companies go through distributors. We feel it’s best to have complete control; it’s a way to differentiate ourselves in the market.”

The program offers 40-plus SKUs of engineered and solid exotic hardwood in both unfinished and prefinished versions. Products will be warehoused in key locations across the U.S., as Cikel ships by order—cartons, pallets or trucks. Schappell explained this not only allows Cikel to get orders out to customers in an expedient, professional way, but it also helps cut costs.
