PINELLAS PARK, FLA.—European Granite & Stone Distributors recently broke ground on a 24,000-square-foot, state-of- the-art distribution center slated to open this summer here.

Mark Ellis, CEO, said the facility will service floor covering dealers, granite fabricators, kitchen and bath boutiques, architects, designers and builders throughout Florida and the Southeast with a wide variety of products, including granite and stone tiles, porcelain, wood, laminate and many “unique” accessory items.

The distribution center will be controlled by an interactive inventory system that will eventually allow dealers to have password-controlled online access to the system. Retailers will be able to search for products, place orders, check order status and even pay accounts, all at the click of a mouse.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Ellis, back row center, was with his wife, Kelli, and children Stefan and Alexa, along with Ken Cherven, president of First Community Bank.
