Tarkett debuts ‘made in the U.S.’ laminate products
Article Number: 3241

FARNHAM, QUEBEC— Tarkett has launched the first of its new laminate collections— Trek and Escapade—which are not only designed for North American consumers but are manufactured at the company’s new, state-of-the-art production facility in Clarion, Pa.

Jeff Katz, director of laminates for Tarkett Residential, said these products are “just the beginning. We’re making a significant investment to advance all our laminate products. With our redesigned collection and having the most innovative laminate production facility in the world, we believe Tarkett offers the best performing, designed and manufactured laminate collection available in the market.”

As proof, he pointed to the mill’s inner core board, AmeriCore, which is made with 100% hardwood—cherry and oak chips—at the new facility. “This results in superior product indentation resistance, with the highest industry rating of IC3 in both products.”

In addition, both are designed for durability with an Abrasion Classification rating of AC 3, “one of the highest in the industry for a value-oriented laminate,” Katz explained. Trek and Escapade also feature Tarkett’s new patented T-Lock locking system for fast and easy installation, and each has a complete range of customized moldings.

Created by the company’s North American design team, Trek is a 7mm thick product offered in four patterns, and Escapade, at 8mm in thickness, features 13 patterns with wood species that include walnut, maple, birch, cherry, oak and sycamore, and color that ranges from light to mid tones.

As a result of the technological features incorporated into the products, Katz said they feature some of the most extensive product warranties for entrylevel products ever provided: Trek has a 20-year guarantee while Escapade carries 25 years.

To promote Trek and Escapade, Tarkett will offer distributors and retailers tri-fold brochures, carry boards and swing sets, along with detailed sales training to “ensure the retail salesperson is fully knowledgeable about the products.”
