An illustration of Creative Edge’s site specific design is the lobby floor of the Radisson Hotel in Rapid City, South Dakota, a destination for tourists of Mt. Rushmore. The lobby floor design has been described for more than 10 years as “the most advanced marble floor creation since the Renaissance.”

Regarded as one of the best examples of waterjet technology in the world, this 24’ by 60’ floor medallion, designed and installed by Creative Edge, represented the largest waterjet stone floor project ever realized at that time. The hotel owner, Karim Merali said about the floor, "My lobby floor provides an advertising image for my hotel. I want to be known as The Hotel of Mt. Rushmore. People come to see my lobby as it amplifies their experience of this region."

For Coverings 2007, Aalto also designed a waterjet cut mural depicting the vivid details of Chicago’s impressive skyline that is permanently installed on the walls of McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. In 2008, Aalto returned to Coverings, utilizing a unique fusion of bright and bold colors with varying textures for a tropical Florida-inspired mural. Thousands of precision-cut, beautifully colored pieces make up the waterjet artistry that will remain mounted outside of the new Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, at the South entryway.
