CALHOUN, GA.—Last month
Mohawk Industries announced a strategic partnership with Floor Expo, the largest network of single and multi-family residential flooring contractors, which will set the foundation of a long-term mindset, said
Tom Lape, president of Mohawk Residential. “This doesn’t automatically grant us all business, but it is a mutual expansion of our existing relationship with Floor Expo.”
The agreement between the two positions Mohawk as a preferred supplier to Floor Expo members, including both carpet and hard surface products. Dave Gheesling, CEO of Floor Expo, said, “This strategic alignment with Mohawk is a partnership that aims to maximize the value of Floor Expo member companies and further differentiate them in their local and regional markets.”
Lape continued, stating there has never been a more critical time to have a productive dialogue between manufacturers and contractors. “We feel that our commitment to the Expo group as a critical member of these markets enhances both our movement in the markets.”
Gheesling agreed saying the move was natural for Floor Expo and its members. “We have proven the value of partnership through the years with Mohawk on the hard surface side of the business, and the addition of Mohawk residential broadloom to our program is the next step in driving profitable growth for both of our companies.”
Additionally, the partnership will provide members with enhanced customer service initiatives aimed at driving higher levels of product dependability, increased account partnering opportunities and the use of
Mohawk University through the development of training modules and online solutions aimed at the unique needs of the larger residential floor covering contractors.
