EarthWerks knocks on hardwood’s door
Article Number: 3096

LAS VEGAS—Resilient manufacturer EarthWerks opened a new door at Surfaces by offering its first hardwood flooring options.

Five lines were introduced with a total of 41 SKUs. “We’ve been testing ourselves in this arena for a few years,” said Jonathan Train, product manager. “The response has been great. We’re ready to see what we can do in the future.”

Prestige is an engineered product with a 4mm wearlayer. It’s available in a handscraped, handsculpted and smooth offering in varying colors and species. Train said the handsculpted natural French bleed Cherry has been the attention grabber of the line.

The company’s entry-level selection, Durango, is a softer product with handscraped designs. Made from the Bagras species (a form of eucalyptus), it provides the green attributes of using plantation wood with exotic aesthetics.

Highland Walnut features an “elegant sculpt,” Train noted. “Artisans hand stain the planks and then go back and hand rub black stain into the boards to bring out the natural grain and texture.”

Cimarron and Hill Country offer white oak in two “very distinct visuals.” Cimarron provides a wire brush handscraped offering in two colors, while Hill Country features a distressed plank effect in three shades.
