Ilva S.A., a leading Argentine manufacturer and exporter of ceramic and porcelain tile, has implemented a set of activities to have an environmentally-friendly industrial process, as a way to address eco-industrial guidelines.
Ilva’s objective is not only to protect the environment by recycling all raw materials as much as possible, but also, to prevent contamination caused by all disposable byproducts.
Ilva’s products are manufactured from locally sourced raw materials (clays, feldspars, quartz) that mostly come from the pollution free area in Patagonia. All water used in Ilva’s comprehensive fabrication process is purified by separating all clays and other byproducts which are re-used again as raw materials.
In addition to all of the conservation work done during on-site tile production, Ilva’s personnel also collect leftover wood, plastic, paper and glass products, then delivers these material so companies specializing in the highest levels of recycling.
“Ilva has made a strong commitment to having an environmentally-friendly industrial process” said Javier Torres, Sales & Marketing Manager at Ilva.
