SADDLEBROOK, N.J.—
Nourison has developed several new fine wool and wool blended broadloom products, some of which will compete with synthetics at similar price ranges. These new machine tufted products debuted at this year’s Surfaces.
“Synthetic fibers have been trying to emulate the natural properties of wools for decades,” said Gerard O’Keefe, vice president broadloom for Nourison. “In today’s market wool is not only the best carpet fiber, it offers the best value. As a fully integrated wool manufacturer, we can offer unprecedented value and selection in this category.”
Alex Peykar, principal of Nourison, said, “Since the opening of our 500,000 square-foot tufting facilities, we’ve exponentially expanded our capabilities. We introduced new constructions, never before seen in machine-made wool and wool blended broadloom, many of which priced lower than high-end synthetics.”
More than 20 introductory collections and two new display systems represent a significant commitment for the company to these new constructions. Nourison-owned factories will also produce additional unique constructions, designs and finishes in mid-level to luxury qualities where the company has a comfortable niche in high-end residential and commercial broadloom markets, Peykar noted.
