Solutia offers dealers incentives in ’08

Kennesaw, Ga.— Tuftex and Solutia have teamed up to give dealers a one-two punch when it comes to the mill’s latest introduction, Super Chic, featuring the fiber supplier’s Wear-Dated yarn. Super Chic is a reinvention of Tuftex’ best-selling Chic to Chic carpet line.

To celebrate this introduction, Solutia is offering retailers a cash rebate offer for the purchase of sample sets through March 31.

In addition, dealers can also receive a rebate for the purchase of Super Chic carpet rolls with a minimum purchase of three rolls. Rolls must be purchased and shipped by March 31.

All rebate paperwork must be received by Solutia by April 15.

In other news, Solutia’s 2008 retail sales incentive program, Rewards for Life, and Co-Op Advertising and Marketing Funding Program build on the enhancements and momentum created in 2007.

The new Rewards for Life incentive program runs through Dec. 31. Participants earn Rewards Points for every valid square yard of Wear-Dated carpet fiber sold and claimed. All products made from Wear-Dated carpet fiber are eligible.

Reward Points can be redeemed for name-brand merchandise, retail debit cards, and travel and cruise packages. Participants also have the option to convert Rewards Points to cash by exercising the “cash out” option.

Last year, Solutia aligned its sales incentive program with Mohawk’s Rewards Plus program. The alignment, designed to provide retailers with extra incentive to sell heavier-weight carpet made with Wear-Dated, allows salespeople to combine point balances from their Wear-Dated Rewards for Life and Mohawk Rewards Plus programs to earn bigger and better rewards even faster. All points can be managed through WearDatedRewards.com.

The Mohawk and Solutia initiatives remain separate programs, noted Ben Jones, manager of Solutia’s Wear-Dated programs. However, the combination of points at redemption offers “a powerful motivator to encourage salespeople to promote the value of higher-margin branded carpet to the consumer.”
