Johnson to head Amtico in North America
Article Number: 2933

Atlanta—Amtico International has appointed Tyrone Johnson general manager of North America. He will be in charge of the resilient manufacturer’s North American business unit.

“Tyrone has built a career on a very strong sales and customer management background,” said Jonathan Duck, president and CEO. “We view his appointment as a key step to maintaining our record of development and building a strong future in the North American market.”

Most recently with Armstrong World Industries as vice president/general manager of its Homerwood Hardwood Flooring business, Johnson officially began with Amtico Jan. 2, where he reports to Duck. “My goal for Amtico is to help our business grow at a rate that exceeds that of the market,” he said. “A focus for that growth is the dealer market. We made a large investment in this segment in 2007 and plan to exceed that investment in 2008. LVT is a growing category, and we’ll continue to work with dealers to grow our use in the residential repair and remodel sector.”

Hugh Pugsley, senior vice president, previously filled the role since June ’07, on an interim basis. Pugsley will retain direct responsibility for managing Amtico’s business development team, customer service and technical services. He will report to Johnson.
