East Berlin, Pa.—Pennwood Products recently held an open house at its facility here to celebrate the company’s new-and-improved finishing building, replacing the facility that was destroyed by fire on Oct. 9, 2006.

The celebration began in the entrance of the new building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony presented by three generations of Pennwood management: Newell Coxon Jr., president; Kraig Coxon, executive vice president and director of sales and marketing, and Hazel Hoffman, former office manager.

More than 200 guests joined the company’s kick-off gala, including local fire fighters, East Berlin borough officials, the town’s mayor and police, employees and their families, and local business owners and subcontractors who assisted with fire clean up and rebuilding. Attendees were treated to self-guided tours of the new building and machinery; table displays featuring explanations of current processes and product samples, and a video of the company’s history, the fire and the rebuilding effort.
