To be granted this designation, they had to pass a rigorous certification examination and document specific industry educational training and work experience. The Certified Flooring Executive (CFE) designation is intended for flooring industry career professionals and certifies the highest competency level.

This certification program is administered by the World Floor Covering Association ( WFCA), based in Anaheim, California.
