Boa-Franc, the parent company of the Mirage hardwood brand, has recently made a number of additions to its North American distribution network: J.J. Haines & Co. has been added to cover the Mid-Atlantic states. At the same time, Haines’ Wheeler division was added as a new distributor for the Mirage brand of prefinished hardwood flooring in Florida. Moving west, the company has taken on Ohio Valley Flooring for the Ohio Valley and western Pennsylvania areas. And recently, Mirage signed up All Tile to handle its products in the Midwest. Based in Elk Grove, Ill., All Tile is one of the top 15 national floor covering distributors and serves Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Ohio Valley, with its home offices and main warehouse located in the Cincinnati metro area with additional distribution points in Cleveland, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Pittsburgh, will serve the states of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and western Pennsylvania.

• Somerset Hardwood Flooring has added three new distributors to cover portions of the Northeastern U.S. Apollo Distributing Co. will now carry Somerset in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York; Bayard Sales Corp. will cover New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and parts of Virginia and West Virginia, and NRF Distributors will service Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as parts of New York and Pennsylvania. “These are distributors who are well established and highly regarded in their territories,” said Paul Stringer, vice president of sales and marketing. “It’s a terrific opportunity for us to continue to grow the brand in an area that’s been very strong for us.”

• Flexco recently added two distributors: Farrell Distributing and Carpet Cushion & Supply. Headquartered in Endicott, N.Y., Farrell has been in flooring distribution since 1974 serving mid-east counties in New York and a portion of Pennsylvania. Carpet Cushion is based in St. Louis and will service the Flexco line in Missouri and Illinois.

Formica Flooring recently announced the addition of T&L Distributing to its distribution network. “T&L is a well-respected company known for building and maintaining long-term relationships,” said Ken Peden, COO of Kronotex, Formica’s parent. Headquartered in Houston, T&L will service the Formica brand in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and parts of Arkansas.

• Halo Floors has named Wheeler Floors as its distributor for the Florida market. Created three years ago by Mary Docker, CEO, who led the launch of Amtico into the U.S. market, the resilient company operates through sales agencies and distributors in North and South America. She called Wheeler, which was recently acquired by J.J. Haines, “a well-respected company in the flooring industry for the past 32 years. The skills of the Wheeler team and its company culture fit with those of our own.” Scott Wheeler, the distributor’s president, noted, “The unique products Halo manufactures allow us to offer our clients opportunities to be distinctive and fashionable in their interior choices, safe in the knowledge that the quality and service is there to back it up.”

Johnsonite recently announced Erv Parent will take on its Linoleum XF product line, which is part of the Tarkett collection. The distributor is currently the Johnsonite distributor of homogeneous and heterogeneous lines for the provinces of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Yukon and Northwest territories.

Mercier Wood Flooring has named Primco its distributor in Western Canada. In business since 1947, Primco has locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg, and supplies Canadian dealers from the Pacific Coast to Thunder Bay, Ontario., as well as in the north in Yukon, Northwestern territories and Nunavut. Mercier said Primco will “strengthen and increase our presence from Manitoba to British Columbia.”

Scandian Wood Floors has appointed Suncrest Supply to service Florida. “Suncrest has an unbelievable reputation for its outstanding service record in the Florida market,” said John Patter-son, Scandian’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Our research verified its commitment to maintain inventory and support retailers is second to none.” Jerry Burtt, owner of Suncrest, called Scandian “the best product in the exotic category.” Patterson noted the Florida panhandle region continues to be serviced by either Southern Wholesale or Bolick Distributors.

• UFloor Systems recently named Cronin Co. as its distributor of record for the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1878, the Portland, Ore.-based wholesaler will carry U-Floor’s Pallmann branded line of finishes and sealants for the surface treatment of wood flooring.
