Mannington's Adura Luxury Vinyl
Hicksville, N.Y.—In late spring some resilient manufacturers raised prices on select product lines to try and combat the ever-increasing costs of raw materials. But with prices for materials such as plasticizer, homopolymer suspension and copolymer continuing to escalate, not only are individual product lines seeing additional price hikes, entire portfolios are getting hit.

Armstrong announced that with shipments on Oct. 15, it will initiate a 5% price increase on its VCT and commercial sheet products and a 4% to 5% hike on select residential sheet goods.

Tarkett Commercial said it will be implementing a 4% to 6% increase on its tile products, also starting with Oct. 15 shipments.

At Mannington, Tom Davis, president and CEO, said in addition to raw materials, “energy and transportation [costs] continue to increase.” With that the company announced price increases will range from 3% to 6% on select residential resilient products effective with shipments on Oct. 22.

In addition, Mannington’s commercial division is adding 3% to 5% on the price tag of its Nature Paths Luxury Vinyl products effective with Oct. 1 shipments. Jack Ganley, president of commercial business, pointed out, “We have foregone any price increases since entering the [luxury vinyl] category over two years ago. At this time, unfortunately, these significant cost increases necessitate our bringing a price increase of our own to the resilient market.”
