Shanghai, China—In nine years Domotex asia/Chinafloor (DACF) has quickly risen to become one of the world’s top flooring markets. It’s already the largest flooring show in Asia and is considered a key place to see some of the latest wood and laminate designs with more than 300 companies showing products in these two categories alone.
Though it is still six months away, organizers say the 10th edition of DACF is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet. “The sales for next edition have been launched, and the feedback is extremely positive,” said Melody Shen, senior project manager. At press time, more than 500 companies had registered, reserving approximately 370,000 square feet or 80% of exhibit space.
Shen noted DACF 2008 will continue its traditional four sections—wood and laminate flooring, textile floor covering/ carpets and rugs, resilient flooring and flooring technology—providing domestic and international buyers numerous products, technologies and solutions.
While wood and laminate continue to feature the largest congregation of exhibitors, the carpet segment not only remains the most international, it also continues to grow. For example, she said the Belgian pavilion will increase again, and Turkish companies will present themselves as a country pavilion for the first time.
The FloorTech portion of the show remains its newest event, as 2008 will mark its third edition. “The flooring technology section attracted great attention in the 2007 edition,” she explained. For 2008, “this section will be located at the center of the wood and laminate halls.”
Lastly is the educational component. DACF will once again feature numerous seminars and training events to help enhance attendees’ knowledge of the industry and specific business issues. In addition, many companies stage their own educational sessions along with on-site demonstrations on how to install their products.
“DACF creates an excellent opportunity for international buyers to source Chinese products and a distinguished platform for Chinese companies to export their products,” Shen concluded.
