Houston—With sales of Nafco products
climbing to new heights, the Domco Tarkett Commercial division has created an
advertising kit for dealers and distributors to use in their local markets as a
way to generate even more interest in the company’s offerings. Kathy Holdridge,
director of communications for Domco Tarkett Commercial, said the kit contains
everything a dealer needs to make advertising simple and cost effective. “With
this kit,” she explained, “retailers can quickly and effortlessly use
newspaper ads, direct mail and general advertising with Nafco’s messages
already incorporated.” This is possible, she explained, because everything in
the kit comes ready-made, which eliminates the hassles of creating their own
ads. All a dealer needs to do is insert his store name and address.
“The ads and logos are professionally
produced and pre-approved. Retailers simply select an ad and submit it to their
local newspapers.” Four camera-ready newspaper ads are offered in a two column
by 7-in. format, with each one having a different message, such as, “Yes, We
Sell the Secret of Eternal Youth (Unfortunately, It Only Works on Floors)” and
“This Floor Is Even More Beautiful to People Who Don’t Happen to Have a
Full-Time Housekeeper.” In addition to the newspaper ads, the kit contains
three direct mail pieces and the Nafco logo in six sizes.
In other news, Domco Tarkett Commercial has
added to its distribution network with the signing of three wholesalers: Gilford
Flooring, Southern Tile and Gerlinger. Gilford will expand its Domco Tarkett
offerings by now carrying Tarkett Sommer products. The distributor services its
customers through warehouses in Louisville, Ky.; Columbus, Ohio, and
Indianapolis. “Healthcare applications are a large part of our commercial
business,” said Dennis Cook, Gilford’s president, “and Tarkett Sommer has
a tremendous line of products to meet the needs of this particular segment.”
Southern Tile, which has worked with Domco Tarkett for almost 50 years and
carries numerous products from the manufacturer, has also added Tarkett Sommer
goods to its offerings. “By adding these products,” said Jeff Black,
Southern Tile’s president, “we plan to increase our share of the commercial
market because we will be able to offer a stronger package of goods to
architects and specifiers.”
Gerlinger has been appointed to sell selected
Domco Tarkett Commercial brands in Michigan and Ohio along with the Tarkett
brand of residential sheet flooring. “These brands will be a strong addition
to our product lineup,” said Gary Garris, Gerlinger’s president and CEO.
“We are very impressed with Domco Tarkett’s product offerings, its
technology and its new structure.” Jan Lembregts, president of Domco Tarkett
Residential, and Gilles de Beaumont, president of Domco Tarkett Commercial, said
the 75-year-old Gerlinger “knows the distribution business inside and out and
will be a great marketing partner as we continue to grow our residential and
commercial businesses in Michigan and Ohio.” For more information on Domco
