Award Hardwood Floors: Product portfolio has deepened in last 10 years
Article Number: 2431

Award Hardwood Floors has been producing hardwood flooring in a variety of styles and widths for almost 10 years. The factory, which opened in 1997, was designed primarily to produce flat-edged, longstrip engineered flooring. But today, in their state-of-the-art facility, the company produces and finishes a much wider variety of flooring styles, including beveled, sculpted, hand-scraped and smooth plank products in various lengths and widths and in both engineered and solid construction.

Headquartered in Wisconsin, Award manufactures its product range in both standard tongue-and-groove as well as a glueless “click” profile on both a wood and HDF core. The company’s manufacturing facilities are in close proximity to a ready supply of North American hardwoods. It also utilizes select exotic species in its engineered flooring products.

Another feature is the new Wearmax LX including an advanced ceramic finish. Wearmax LX has been reformulated for a smooth, silky finish, along with what the company claims to be the most wear-resistant finish in the industry. Products featuring Wearmax are backed by extensive warranties.

Award’s latest introduction, North American Classics, debuted earlier this year at Surfaces. North American Classics is a 3/4- nch solid produced in 21/4- and 4-inch widths featuring smooth and handscraped textures in walnut, American cherry, hickory, maple, red oak and ash. The line is produced in environmentally responsible standards in the following manor:

1. All wood procured for North American Classics are from professionally managed, sustainable forests and are subject to the most strict lumber practices and active reforestation projects.

2. North American Classics uses a blended grading standard to utilize more wood from each and every log.

3. Award carefully monitors manufacturing processes and strives to stay significantly below U.S. standards for emissions.

Additional lines in the Award portfolio include Terra Bella, American Traditions and Masters Touch, which are produced in various widths, lengths and textures. All Award products feature Wearmax advanced ceramic finish. Depending on the construction, these products can be installed using the glue down, staple down, float-in or glueless installation methods.

Santa Fe and Palm Harbor Plank are two new collections that will be introduced this fall. Four colors in Santa Fe Plank will feature an antique style in ash on an HDF core with a “click” style installation profile. Highdensity fiber (HDF) is produced using recovered solids and uses little, if any, virgin wood in its production. Recycled content saves trees!

The four colors in Palm Harbor Plank will highlight a smooth style on ash with a standard tongue and groove profile on multi-ply core. For optimal presentation, these collections will be marketed in a new style. Flooring samples will be mounted on the inside of a folding deck board with dynamic room scenes presented on the cover.
